The Northeast Stokes Vol. Fire & Rescue Dept. thanks you for all the support we get from our community, with outit we would not be able to assist our community.Northeast Stokes Vol. Fire Department started out with 37 members. On December 21st 1988 the original charterwas amended to change the name to Northeast Stokes Vol. Fire Department and Rescue Squad Inc.Northeast Stokes Volunteer Fire & Rescue runs approximately 545 calls per year with an average response time of6 minutes. Since going on the County fire service tax, the Department has concentrated on building up the apparatus andequipment used by the Department in service to the community. However, without the dedication of our members, all theapparatus and equipment could not be used.The goals of the Department for the coming years are to mantain the highest level of training and the mosteffective equipment and apparatus needed for the services rendered to our community, and surrounding communitieson mutual aid and Stokes County.
Northeast Stokes Volunteer Fire & Rescue Station 36
On Wednesday January 7th 2026, Station 36 personnel were dispatched to a reported brush fire. While enroute, Assistant Chief Webb advised a possibly large fire, and requested additional mutual aid. Chief Clark arrived and assumed command. Units engaged in fire attack and control utilizing offensive attacks. The fire was brought under control and contained to 4 acres in size.
