WATER SHUTTLE TRAINING EXERCISE
On July 27, 2026, Northeast Stokes Volunteer Fire & Rescue and Stokes-Rockingham Fire & Rescue Dept. conducted a joint mutual aid water shuttle training exercise. The training focused on coordinating personnel and apparatus to establish and maintain a continuous water supply in areas without hydrant access. Crews practiced water shuttle operations, including tanker fill and dump site procedures, apparatus positioning, communication, and interagency coordination. The exercise reinforced mutual aid capabilities, improved operational efficiency, and strengthened working relationships between both Departments, ensuring a coordinated response during emergency incidents requiring sustained water supply operations.
