Nov. 12th 2025 @ 12:33PM Station 36 was dispatched to a woods fire, upon arrival crews found a fire in the woods adjacent to a residence. Being that it was windy and dry Chief 36 asked Stokes dispatch to alert Station 32 for assistance. Along with a quick response crews were able to extinguish the fire before it could spread any further. (Tip) When you clean out your wood stove or fireplace even though the ashes are cold to the touch it's always best practice to water the ashes down before you walk away. Station 36 would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance: Lawsonville Fire and Rescue, Stokes County Fire Marshal and the N.C. Forest Service
